What is BLOG



For many years that passed, many things have change in terms of fashion, life style, beliefs, traditions, cultures, politics, economics, and technology. We can’t be stopped by exploring our curiosity. We always move forward, we discovered new things and improve it.

Juts like dairy, ledger, daybook, journal, and now it became Weblog or Blog. Before we go back to the history of blog, let us first discuss abut the difference. We all know that dairy, ledger, daybook or journals are;

A daily written record of (usually personal) experiences and observations

A periodical dedicated to a particular subject

A ledger in which transactions have been recorded as they occurred

A record book as a physical object

The part of the axle contained by a bearing

And the tools that we used of it are paper and a pen.


While Blog is a personal journal published on the web. A weblog or blog for short can take many forms. Some are online scrapbooks, for pasting links and quotes from items found on the web; many act as personal diaries, often illustrated with digital snapshots; and some are more like digital soapboxes, providing a platform for airing opinions and commentary, either about the world at large or on a specialist interest. Some of these formats have been adapted for commercial publishing or marketing, or as a knowledge management tool, and other business adaptations have been suggested. The unifying theme is that the user (known as a blogger) adds entries using a simple online form in their browser, while the weblog publishing software takes care of formatting the page layout and creating archive pages, RSS feeds and other supporting functions. Most of all weblog or blog is more on public unlike diaries or ledgers they keep on private. And the computer is the tool for weblog or blogging.
